Retirement Commission

My boss is retiring and I was commissioned by the staff to make a comic book-like piece celebrating both her years of service in education...and doubling as a tribute to the length of her marriage. The party where this was presented was last night, so now I can share it with you all.

For the record, the mascot at my school is the Gladiator (her costume). His costume is a modified/recolored tribute to Anansi from the Static Shock episodes "Static in Africa" and "Out of Africa" (a nice tribute to Dwayne McDuffie and Michael Douglas I was able to slip under the radar).

I learned a lot during this one...and now I have someone else at work that wants a piece like this. Which means, I might actually be tempted to try commissions this summer.
